Love in Heaven, Earth and Hell

Often love stories only reveal the success of love, yet seldom depict the aspects of live after love is successful.
A relationship needs to be worked on together to persevere in a synergy of love and happiness. This poem is dedicated to those who are in love and moving through the phases in life together.

Hulu Selangor - By-Election 2010

"A circus zoo under a microscope - Yet will the plight of citizens be answered?"

News about the upcoming Hulu Selangor (HS) election is currently filling up the headlines of all media.

Every controversy is highlighted and blown up to mega proportions. Character assassination using the propaganda media is evident. It's a circus zoo out there. And with the internet blogging scene fired up ...So much news......but what is all the hype about?

It becomes quite difficult for (thinking) people to make a choice.

In my opinion, when given such a choice one should think rationally and think for the long term. A difference or a change?..It is in the hands of each and every voter.

When given a choice of 2 different pieces of rotten meat...with nothing else to eat.....I'd chose the meat that is newer and looks fresher and at least give it a try.

Politics is a dirty game. I really liked the quote by Dr M yesterday " All is fair in love, war and elections"! (which incidentally revealed how he could have fought his battles.)

Another month has started

Early humans based their months on the length from one full moon to the next.

The bright moon would bring joy to the whole village and they will party all night.

Soon calendars were made based on the moon(lunar calendar)...and many still are.

But now, a month for me means the time from one payday to the other :)

As the salary is banked in, a festival like atmosphere...I feel on top of the world. It's a full moon tonight!!

As easy at it is transferred to my account, the currency seems to evaporate in the air and disappear

As I repay my ardent lovers who never fail to send me letters with bold figures..

...at one stage..it becomes darker and darker until.....

Hope springs as it is nearer and nearer to the next payday....like a rising moon...

And finally......the full moon blooms again...smiling at this soul...

Would we appreciate the light without suffering in the darkness?

Would I appreciate the money if I had never seen what life was like when I was broke?

One month has passed and many more sweet ones to come....

Oh the joy of simple things in life!

10 Latchatil Naan Oruvan (I'm one in a million)

The deadline for Malaysian income-tax submission for year 2009 is  April 30 for regular employees (non-business).

For the past few weeks, hearing the song "Hassile Fissile" would remind me that I need to complete my e-filing by logging on to Hasil.gov.my. Maybe LHDN could consider using this song for an ad!

All complete, but as usual, I'll wait till the last minute to hit the send button! and pray I won't be called for a dreaded audit. Last year my record was 4.00am on 30/4/2009.

This article extracted from Malaysiakini somehow makes me proud to pay my taxes. (Of course the article is not an endearing one.)

Out of 28 million Malaysians, only 1 million pay taxes.

Out of this 1 million, 85% are non-bumis. And one of this one million is me!...10 latchatil naan oruvan...

At least this relieves some of the pain...the fact that my hard earned money is actually being used to build this nation (i hope so)

Ethuvum Puthithillai (Nothing is New)

The lyrics from the song "Idhayam Oru Kovil"(Idhaya Kovil 1985) always plays in my mind, and the unforgettable verse:

"Paadalgal oru kodi, ethuvum Puthithalla,
Raagangal koai kodi adhuvum puthithalla,
Enadhu jeevan onrudhaan enrum puthithu"

Rough Translation:

A million songs, but nothing is new,
A million million raagas, but that's not new too,
Only my soul is always new...

Nothing is new in this world, yet we have the power to make a difference in whatever we do.
We have the ability to make things unique...

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya vs Real Life

Watching Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya(VTV) did rekindle the past.

As usual, in love, guys get the raw deal :). But there’s always a blessing in disguise.

Anyway, here’s a basic checklist of a guy’s love life:

1) No clear direction in life √

2) Fall in love with beautiful girl without knowing much or anything about her √

3) Romantic moments with girl(including duet song) √

4) Tense moments with girl (quarrels/fights) √

5) Get into fight with rowdies to defend girl √

6) Hide from relatives/friends of girl √

7) Start to focus on money to ensure lasting relationship √

8) Just as career is developing...work tension vs love life balance √

9) Ultimatum served by girl to choose her or career √

10) Meet the parents (in laws)....toughest steps √

11)    a) Rejection .....

i) Odipolama?..(elope)

ii) Start over from beginning or

iii) choose to make your own movie with a happy ending, and  invite her for the opening show

      b) Success ...... live happily ever after (yeah right :)!!!)

On the other hands, girls get the better deal:

1) Always focused on what they want in life... √

2) Maintain their sanity and choose the proper suitor √

3) Romantic moments are always under their control √

3) If suitor is unable to fulfill any conditions anytime, just ignore his calls until he  gives up finally as guys always lose in games of patience.. √

4) If suitor proves stubborn, just dump him and repeat step 2

5) Hide from friends/relatives until all conditions are suitable √

6) Torture guy to meet her parents √

7) If parents ok.......happy that you got an obedient husband and maintain him that way.... √

8) If parents are unhappy.........

i) Odipolama?

ii) Parents will find someone suitable

iii) Wait till parents change mind

iv) Dump the loser and repeat the process from step 2

In reality though....I did love a girl, and I do love her now even after marriage but in a it has definitely changed over the years. The challenges we faced during our courtship brought us closer and made us appreciate our relationship more

VTV ...perhaps it helped revive some of the lost romance in our life...
